Stanford TRANSFER waitlist---attending summer school a good idea?

Hi, I'm the transfer student that's desperate to get off of the waitlist at Stanford. I'm considering attending summer school there this summer---so that I can at least have one quarter of study there, but also so I can meet with professors there, show my interest in the campus, etc.

My other alternatives to summer at Stanford are: 1. Studying abroad in Spain. 2. Taking community college classes that would help me fulfill major requirements for the school I am transferring from. (I think I'll choose Spain if not Stanford).

Summer school at Stanford starts June 20. Waitlist decisions are made "at the end of June".

What do you guys think? Is summer school (~$5000, about the cost of going to Spain) worth it?

Go to Spain. It's unlikely that being at Stanford between June 20 and the "end of June" will change whatever decision they make. $5000 is a lot of money.

nngmm,

Thanks for the comment. I've had two replies and both suggested Spain. I'd love to go, but I also don't want to wonder "what if" if I don't get off of the waitlist.

Any other opinions? I'd really love to hear what you guys think.

No point going to summer school. I doubt that it will have an impact on your status as "waitlisted."

Everybody has told me this. I guess I'd better just go enjoy my study abroad. It's the exact opposite of what I thought people would say. Hmm...
