STANFORD Waitlist 2015

For all the people on CC who got waitlisted at Stanford. Does anyone know the probability that we'll get in?...

On the site, it said that of the 999 applicants they had put on their waitlist, about 500 accept the waitlist position, and of those, 0 to 125 get accepted every year from that list, but they don’t really start finding out until after May 1st? So around a 33% chance anyways.
Good luck!

An Update on the Freshman Waitlist and Transfer Admission
May 13, 2010

On Monday, May 10, all transfer applicants were notified of their admission decision. We were able to admit just 20 students from an applicant pool of more than 1200.

Later this evening, May 13, we will admit 26 students from the freshman waitlist to meet our target of enrolling 1675 freshmen this fall. Students will receive an email notification after 5pm (Pacific Time). Also at this time, we will communicate with all of our applicants holding a space on the waitlist, to provide them with an update on their waitlist status.

I have little chance of getting off the waitlist, but it was nice that the chance is still there. It’s been a good run.

Hi. Fellow waitlistee here.

Pretty bummed out and I guess I don’t really expect to make it off the list…

Waiting on a few more schools tomorrow. Hope those come through.

Waitlistee here! Hi, everyone :D

I never expected a waitlist whatsoever, like honestly I really did expect a rejection outright.
For anyone reading this, my academics were decent, but my extra cirriculars even got me this amazing waitlist spot.

WE ARE ALL RIDICULOUSLY AWESOME! I’ve had Stanford written down on April 1st on my planner for months, and rejection written right next to it, but now it’s a WAITLIST!

Kinda pathetic, I know, being so happy over a waitlist, but we are all so awesome!

I did have a nightmare 2 days ago though of being waitlisted from a number of schools I applied to. I sincerely hope the rest of my letters are acceptances :/

Well, Stanford accepted 100 more applicants this year than last year, with no major increase in class size. So I’m going to guess that they do not expect to use the waitlist that much this year.

Expecting a outright rejection as well. I opened the letter laughing, but I was extremely confused when I didn’t see the words “sorry” or “regret”

@zinthafan: I got waitlisted, and last night I also had a dream about getting waitlisted from Stanford. Maybe it had something to do with my already getting waitlisted at four schools - Stanford is my fifth waitlist. Ugh.

Another waitlistee.
I was really excited at first but a bit of research crushed most of my hopes.
Best of luck to you all!

Hey guys!
I was waitlisted last year and ended up getting in. I know exactly what you guys are going through so all I can say is hang in there! I wish you all the best of luck and feel free to ask me any questions.

I was expecting a rejection so I was pleasantly surprised at getting waitlisted. Hopefully, today will bring some good news from the east coast.

The probability’s .2 percent. Sucks that my only other major reach is Brown, this waitlist thing could’ve meant that I had the chance to get into other really good schools.

GAHAHHAHA…STUPID WAITLIST…
I swear my mom’s psychic…she told me that I would be waitlisted at Stanford and MIT and guess what happened???
Oh well…hey if you look at it this way guys…at least we know that they read our applications…:D

So what were your guys’ intended majors?? mine = electrical engineering

I was a potential physics major.

Waitlisted as well! I think this is a huge deal. we rock!!! i kinda wish i had taken the time to actually do the suplements now though. :stuck_out_tongue: congratz to everyone!! and good luck if you are waiting to hear from yale or brown in half an hour.

Same here guysss. As long as I get a parcel of good news in the next 15… i’ll be fine… o.O

fellow waitlistee here, we learn our decision starting may 9th right?
