<p>So i am going to hypothesize how the waitilist process works
It’s probably on a rolling basis
After all the acceptances are sent they’ll send the rejections to everyone
I’m not sure whether it’s region wise but it looks as if no one in the US mainland has received anything from Stanford
Or they’ve informed the select few who have been accepted and we all can expect a rejection soon </p>
<p>Thirteen hours ago, someone from Cambridge, MA wrote on Twitter that she got off the waitlist.</p>
<p>That’s not good news
It means people have definitely been accepted and the remaining rest (us) are well on the verge of a rejection </p>
<p>Yeah, the time seems to be the same as when @MCT1996 got his acceptance, which is obviously bad. :(</p>

Some may know today some tomorow etc</p>
<p>Because they have about 700 applicants to evaluate </p>
<p>I think the waves of acceptances makes sense, but that two people have already posted their acceptance each one from the US Mainland and the other from a US territory means that geography may not have anything to do with the selection. </p>
<p>And if the aforementioned people do not accept their waitlist offer they’ll turn to others on the waitlist

<p>I don’t think that is unlikely. I think that is why they only get a week to answer. To give opportunity to others on the waitlist. (Maybe you said that it was unlikely that someone would not accept - that might be unlikely :-))</p>
<p>I meant it would be unlikely for people not to accept their offer of admission from the waitlist</p>
<p>they also are still getting information about yale & princeton - who have not released their waitlist yet and also about students who defer admissions. Those facts could still affect the waitlist.
I think that this could be stretched out and prolonged. They may reevaluate continuously over the next few weeks… i’m thinking we won’t all know for a while…
and yeah if your still on the waitlist, your probably there for a reason</p>
