I didn't expect much since its just some online forum, I really do appreciate you noticing, Salty.

Anyways it was pretty crazy. I was at a two way stop trying to make a left turn (meaning traffic from both sides matter, as opposed to a right turn where you only have to watch traffic coming from your left), and I am at the stop sign. So I'm at the sign, waiting for it to be clear. To the left of me there is the quintessential big white van parked on the corner, blocking all view. Anyways, I look around and everything seemed good, and as far as I know, there were no cars coming at me, so I drive out to make a left into the intersecting street. All of a sudden BOOM this car comes out from the left of me like at 40mph and was 3-5ft away from my car and as I saw it, I *ing hit the gas HARD. By doing so the car that almost hit me had missed my car, HOWEVER, because I gassed it pretty hard, my car shoots straight up the curb and hits the fence of the house in front. I smashed the fence pretty bad, and one of my tires blew out when I hit the curb. I realized how crazy it was b/c there was still traffic coming at us from both directions. And oh yeah, one of my friends was NOT wearing a *ing seat belt, which I didn't know. So he pretty much flew and hit the back seat really hard, according to the person in the passenger's seat who told me he felt the impact from behind. Fortunately, no one was hurt. I think I did the right thing by hitting the gas though, because if the car coming from the side hit us, it would have been pretty ugly.

**** I need to drive more carefully.

Funny thing is, another pair of cars almost did the same thing like 10 minutes after the incident. THEN like 30 mins after that ANOTHER pair of cars almost do the same thing AGAIN like 20ft from where I hit the fence.

One of my friends recently got into a wreck and totaled his car. He called me all excited telling me how fun it was. This guy is totally insane. I hang out with too many crazy people.

Just from some site I read about two way stops. I hate two way stops. *ing wait forever at those things and hard as hell to see around *.

Two-way stop intersections are a setting for a substantial proportion of the serious car crashes in this province. The cause of the trouble is pretty self evident to anyone with any driving experience. For instance, drivers at the stop sign often need to move far ahead into the intersection to see around trees, or hedges, or parked cars to identify a safe enough gap in the traffic flow to permit them to proceed. The drivers on the through street are often startled by the speed at which the stop sign controlled drivers approach the intersection how far they move into the intersection to watch the traffic flow on the through street.

Sometimes drivers coming from the side streets stop properly, and sometimes they do not. The speed of the vehicles on the through street typically ensures that the results of a collision will be devastating.
