Starting a Club at UF

Does anyone know how easy it is to start a group or a club that is endorsed and funded by the school? For instance, in high school my friends and I were very much into football and tailgating. We began to host an organized tailgate on campus every Friday afternoon before the game, at great expense to ourselves. We started this in my sophomore year and by senior year our tailgate had become so popular that the school's Mother's Club offered to fund our tailgating, providing us with funding for meat, drinks, condiments, coals, etc. If I wanted to continue this type of tailgating at UF, how easy would it be to get funding from the school to start this type of organization if it were available to the student body or the freshman class next year? And if it is possible, how should I go about setting up this endeavor?

Creating the club is easy and funding is much harder and with the concept you are pitching I don't think you will ever get funding from SG.

To start a club recognized by CSI (Center for Student Involvement) formerly SAC (Student Activities Center) you have to have a faculty member who will supervise, a president and a treasurer. You also need to write the constitution (following UF rules) and you have to fill out the application with CSI.

I don't think you will get funded, so I wont go into details. Basically you apply with the Allocations Committee in Student Senate. If you are approved two years in a row, you then become a fully budgeted organization through SG and now go to the Budget Committee.
