Starting a Medical Field Club at School

I was planning on starting a club for people who are interested in working in the medical field at school with my friends. But I don’t know how I should get the club started. I am not sure about what things I should do in the club. Maybe I could find some volunteer events held at the hospital to participate in with the club students. And I could have medical professionals walk in and introduce their roles to the club participants but I don’t know how to get in contact with the doctors. Any suggestions?

I’m in the same boat as far as wanting to start one of these… I was thinking about affiliating with the local hospital to give students looking to job shadow or volunteer a leg up. Also, the club could organize events such as blood and stuffed animal (for children) drives and tying fleece blankets, etc. I would go to the board of directors at the hospital and request speakers to come in.

Do you have a teacher that would be willing to be a faculty advisor? I would find one first and then see how many people are interested. Most schools have a specific process for students interested in starting a club. A blood drive and blanket/stuffed animal drives are good ideas.
