I'm a Freshmen (soon to be Sophomore) and curious on if it would be too early to start preparing for the ACT right now which I plan on taking my Junior year? If it is too early when would you recommend to start preparing? Based off of tests I am currently projected to get a 24 on the ACT however I want to get at least a 31.

I've already taken Algebra and Geometry for anyone curious.

You’re too early. Even the most obsessive studiers on here probably wouldn’t tell you to start more than about 6 months in advance. Personally, I think more than a month is excessive, but that’s just based on my personal experience with the test. It’s good that you’re concerned with the college admissions process so early, but there’s nothing you should do this early, even if you could.

yea honestly i would suggest you to study something else academic, and come back to ACT during your soph-junior summer

I agree that it is too early to start obsessing over practice exams, but there are lots of things you can work on now that will help in the future. Try the ACT vocabulary flashcards, I’ve heard they are great, and keep practicing your algebra and geometry fundamentals (you’d be surprised how many people get tripped up by the easy questions).

Thank you everyone for your advice and tips.
