Hi, so I started college in summer of 07 at Sacramento City College thru spring of 08 and did terribly, I've relocated to LACC since then and am doing ALOT better GPAwise. Having a more desirable GPA, EC's etc., i'm thinking of "starting over", re-completing my IGETC requirements and staying another year at LACC/ELAC and transferring next fall. I graduated High School in 07 and know i'll probably have to account for a missing year in my transcripts somehow, but is it possible to just start over and reapply? "Ccting" as if nothing happened grade and transcript-wise without running into problems w/colleges when I do apply?

Do a search on this forum - this has been asked countless times. You can't do it.

Nope, you have to send in transcripts from all schools attended when you apply.

How terribly did you do?

2.2, in 3 semesters, With 4 C's. I know terrible. I looked up the other threads regarding this and definitely don't want to chance it with all the clearinghouse business the admissions officers look up. I'm basically taking my IGETC over again by staying an extra year including a winter intersession and summer school. My GPA at my new school 3.3 which is alot better than what I was getting at my other school. I've calculated my GPA and what I have to get to get a 3.0 so I can transfer by 2010, but I have to get close to 4.0's the entire time. I believe I can do that, I was an AP/Honors student thru high school, just got lazy that first year.

you're going to grow to feel the truth curse of those C's.
i've got two of them on my transcript.. brings me from nearly a 3.8 to a 3.47.
sorry, duder.

First of all, I went to Sacramento City College. So you are saying that you have 4 Cs at SCC? Also, what courses did you take at SCC? Are all of these courses transferrable courses? If they are then you stuck with the grades, my suggestion is that you use the courses that you completed at SCC for any requirements that you need instead of retaking courses again at LACC for the same requirements.

You can also contact Sacramento City College to see if you qualify for Academic Renewal, if offered.
