<p>S has some contact through service academy connections --dont have numbers but sounded like good options for MMA, including military ....lifestyle will not be 9 to5 for merchant seamen --you would be an 'officer' so better situation</p>
<p>I heard people say that graduates of Maine Maritime Academy, similiar to US Merchant Marines Academy, make about $45-$55k starting.</p>
<p>That's pretty good considering IT professionals can get as low as $30K, and non-business or mainstream majors such as teaching or psychology at first, will make less than $30K.</p>
