Starting to hate my Alg II/Trig class

I’m naturally decent at math. I put in the effort when studying. I would consider myself to be above-average in intelligence and overall ability compared to my peers. Yet my Alg II/Trig grade doesn’t reflect this.

I can easily attain A’s in my other classes but II/Trig is screwing up my freshman year. I’m consistently making [silly] mistakes that end up changing my grade on that specific test from an A to a B. Especially considering the effort I put into re-learning the topic and practicing problems, it really is frustrating.

My grade is on the border of reaching an A and I only have a few more tests left before the finals. I’m working as hard as I can to raise this grade but considering the amount of mistakes I make and low-quality teachers/peers that surround me I don’t think it’s possible. This year quite possibly ruined my relationship with math.

Oh, I was right with you up until here: "… low-quality teachers/peers that surround me "

What, exactly, is a “low quality peer”??? What gives you the right to decide the “quality” of another human being???

And let’s go back to those “low quality teachers.” You state that the reason you’re not getting the grades you want is because you’re “consistently making [silly] mistakes that end up changing my grade on that specific test from an A to a B.”

How is your pattern of making silly mistakes an indication that the teachers who are working with you are “low quality”???

You’re in high school now. It’s time to stop blaming others for your choices.

It’s just one class at one point in time in your life. Do your best. Get through. Don’t overthink it.

Make sure when you do tests to go over your answers. Thoroughly review each question and make sure the math is right
