Thoughts? Too ambitious? How would I go about with this?

What club is it that needs starting?

At NU or your high school?

It’s certainly possible, but I’d recommend not getting ahead of yourself.

You’re not going to have too much experience managing clubs at the collegiate level your freshman year so its important to take some time to see how student organizations operate and interact with its members, the community, as well as the administration.

Also, it’ll be much easier to get a club up and running if you have a group of friends who are willing to help.

Keep both of things in consideration before you decide to start a club.

Lol, yes at NU.

And that’s why I think I’ll try to find the right mentors/people who can offer some guidance.

Any other opinions?

WHAT CLUB IS IT YOU WANT TO START SO DESPERATELY? It is definitely possible to start student groups. There has to be demand, however. What, exactly, are you desperate to have created that doesn’t exist yet? And are you certain that it doesn’t?

Yes, please tell us what club it is you want to get started. That can make a difference.

For example, for a while, I was considering trying to start a track club, but when I went to talk to the person in charge of sports clubs at NU, I learned that that would have been SUPER-complicated and difficult, especially without other people to help. I could be wrong, but I think that it would be much harder to start a sports club than a non-sports club.

I agree with sainclaire that you’ll probably need a couple of friends who are just as enthusiastic about getting the club going as you are.

Please do tell us what club you want to start.
