which is the easiest? which is the most interesting? planning on taking one my first semester. hoping for any info, thanks!

I took Stat 2 with Purves. I thought the class was allright-- neither too hard nor too easy. I don’t know much about the other classes, but don’t take any stat classes with Purves.

can freshmen choose their teachers?

Usually, they only have one teacher per class per semester, but if there are multiple, you can sign up for whichever class has space.

However, as freshmen sign up last, it can be difficult to get into popular classes.

Does anyone have any opinions on stats 134?

I know the prerequisite for it is a full year of calculus. Does anyone know how doable it is without taking stats 2, 20, or 21?

Never took Stat 134 but prereq is only one year of calculus. You will be fine without taking a stat course.
