STAT111 vs BIOL446

I'm currently registered for STAT111, but I've heard that BIOL446 is easier. Can someone give me some insight into whether or not this is true? Since BIOL446 is listed under biology I figured it would include a lot of biology, but I heard from a friend that the examples are just based on biology, such as using mice. Please help! I'm not good at statistics, but I'm required to take it as a pre-dental requirement. Thanks!

And if anyone who has taken BIOL446 can tell me anything at all about the course, including how many midterms were given, that would be helpful as well.

A few things, mostly general. One, you should be able to look up the syllabi online to compare them. Two, a 400-level course is intended for juniors or seniors, so it would be odd that it is easier than a 100-level course.

Three, what do you mean by easier? A stat course is likely more technical and mathematical than a bio course.

BIOL 446 says:
Introductory probability theory. Principles of statistical methods. Problems of estimation and hypothesis testing in biology and related areas.

STAT 111 says:
Fundamentals of Statistics. Descriptive statistics and simple linear regression. Emphasis is on the development of statistical thinking and applications are directed towards the behavioral sciences, especially psychology, and medicine. Topics include probability, statistical inference, hypothesis testing and confidence intervals.

Finally, stat is offered through Wharton. Bio is through CAS of course. In general, a Wharton class would be more technical / math-based than a CAS class.

Here’s a link to an old syllabus for Biol 446, but it is likely the same if the professor is the same:
