Anyone take STAT131A with Cheng yet?
How is the class?
Is this schedule doable?
Chem4A 4
Stat131A 4
MCB55 3
English 31AC 4

Also still debate these—Please help
Stat131A or Math53? which one?
English 31AC or English 166AC? which one?

this depends. what is your major and which of these are required?

many have said chem 4 is a challenging series. math 55 (discrete right?) would be hard unless youre a CS/math person id imagine…mcb 55 shouldnt be too bad if you already have a basic understanding of physio/immune system since its intended for non-sci majors…dunno about english 31ac, but ac classes aside from writing are typically easy on the GPA

hope that helps

Chem 4A is pretty time consuming. I’d watch out.

Math 53 is probably much more standard than Stat 131A for someone taking Chem 4A, so I would go with that. You will know a lot more people in the class, which is a big asset. 4A will take a large chunk of your time, don’t underestimate it.

So CHEM3A/3AL would be better?

I thought STAT131A is easier (less math) than MATH53?

Stat 131A is probably less math, but 53 is pretty easy math. What is your major? Do you need 53 for your major eventually? Chem 3A/3AL is also quite time consuming, but it’s a very different class from 4A.

Not declare yet-May be MCB or IB or MB or PBH…

Oh, interesting. I don’t think you need to take Chem 4A then…it’s not worth the effort if you’re not a chem/chemE/chembio major, especially since there are very few biological applications in that class; it’s roughly half physical chemistry, 1/4 thermodynamics, and 1/4 acid/base equilibria. If you need to satisfy general chemistry for medical school then I recommend that you take Chem 1A and get an easy A. And then you might want to take Chem 4B in the spring, because that class (at least when I took it) had much more biology.

How about this load?
Chem1A 4
Stat131A 4
MCB32 3
English 31AC 4

Now that is very manageable. You should be good with that one.
