Anyone watching? About to start soon

So far, he has said nothing I don’t already know.

^LOL, agreed

He is harping.

My friend is sitting by Michelle Obama, although it’s not as exciting as I thought it would be.

I am listening.

My computer is having difficulties:/

What channel is it on?

The usual news stations will have it on. I’m watching on abc News.

Ok, thanks!

Yeah, same, watching it on ABC News

cbs out here

I’m pretty sure Stalin’s State of the Union was word-for-word the same as this one during his first term.

Haha I seriously hope not.

The beginning reminded me a lot of Thomas Jefferson. “We are all Republicans, we are all Federalists.”

On another note, I hate how tons of people are writing off Obama because he hasn’t solved world hunger, completely fixed the national economy, made the whole world go green, and solved every issue on the planet. People are holding the President to such a high standard that it’s impossible to even come close to it. If we looked at what President Obama’s done as opposed to the last few Presidents we’ve had in office, I think it’s obvious that he’s doing an incredible job for his first year in office and that everyone shouldn’t be so quick to write him off for not being Hercules.

Haha, sorry if that sounded like a rant (it kind of was) but I had to get that off my chest.

I watched it for a little bit, but the majority of what he is talking about has already been issued and advocated.

I’m content with what he’s doing though. I think that it’s imperative that the government takes action as opposed to allowing the economy to resolve itself. Obama is trying to incorporate the Keynes method.

watching on youtube… nancy pelosi keeps on distracting me XD

I agree with you, people had completely unrealistic expectations for him, can’t blame him that much. People just don’t seem to realize that you can’t give up on the guy after just 6 monthsm and now that he has nearly had a year, they dog him even more.

i agree, however, I’m not totally for all of Obama’s projects, and I didn’t see some of the stuff he was talking about in my own community.
His emphasis on education was off note, because Michigan has just initiated a massive budget cut for all schools, which will lead to larger class sizes and drastic changes. Did he mean education reform in the FUTURE?
And, while I agree we need to be responsible with the environment, I don’t think global warming should be the reason for eco-friendliness. I don’t really believe in global warming, to be honest.

I haven’t seen any state of the union addresses before (that I remember at least), so I don’t really know what to think of this one. I did think it funny that most republicans didn’t stand up and clap for Obama that much.

tl;dw

(10 char)

^^Lol on Fox news they were dishing out complements and applauding Obama, found that to be interesting.

Wow that’s pretty bad. I work at a free clinic, and our budget was cut in half basically, so yes that good “reform” has yet to trickle down into my own community. I mean we barely could afford to operate before the massive cuts, and now we rely on donations even more.

I found the speech to be generic and boring for major stretches of it, although he did have some good sections in it. I am not sure how to properly “grade” how good it was either, but I think it possibly could have been better.

I believe in global warming, so I think that is a huge reason to be eco-friendly. But something needs to get done about that quickly, just because we have the technology to make giant strides, but we are fettered politically.

I love obama!

that said, some portions of his speech were interesting other heartwarming but the words don’t matter-the actions do.
that said. i found the ovations a bit excessive. the democratic party gave obama standing ovations over 25 times! crazy!
i tried to watch the republican response but it was a bunch of badly voiced bombast; as usual.
