Statistically reported GPAs vs actual GPAs

When colleges report statistics on the GPAs of their applicants, are they reporting the actual GPA on the applicants’ transcripts, or the adjusted GPAs, with “Easy A” classes (such as band, choir, theatre, etc.) grades taken out? For me, the differences between these two numbers is very significant (0.4), and I would like to know where I fall on admissions graphs, curves, etc.

The whole purpose of the statistic reports is to make the college more appealing, so I would say the latter. However, that doesn’t mean that they’ll use the number on the transcript over adjusted GPA when it comes to admissions. Whatever relates to your major will have more significance.
