Statistics for Transfer Students to UCLA

I have a question pertaining to CCC transfer admissions articulation agreement: For my community college it stated that "Effective for Fall 2008 transfer applicants, the current statistics
course (Math 142) at Diablo Valley College is not longer applicable
towards meeting the statistics requirement for the Neuroscience major at
UCLA." That is the email I received from someone at UCLA admissions and the same was written on assist.org. I am a Neuroscience major, but this would also be applicable to any major that needs stats I assume. My question is: if you are in the same boat as I am, what are you going to do? I need Stats for med school, but if the stats I take at a CC are not going to be accepted by UCLA and I end up having to take ANOTHER stats class at UCLA to fulfill their requirements, wouldn't it be best to just not take it at CC? (I checked UCSD and they are fine w/ the current stats class)

PS: I checked a few other community colleges (de anza, OCC, Las Positas) and they all have the same issue w/ stats for UCLA.

If an admissions representative reads this I would greatly appreciate your advice

Thanks! And I hope this helps some people taking stats this fall b/c I'm signed up and I just found out last month about this.

there aren't really anymore admissions people on cc. at least not for la. they stopped a few years ago.

very plainly, if it doesnt transfer then there's no point in taking it. its not like they can hold it against you if they don't accept the credit. i guess if you're really interested in sd then it might be worth it, but if you think you can get into sd without it then just wait to take it after you transfer. there's absolutely no reason to take something twice.

Thanks Allie! I'm going to hold off on it for now I guess and talk to UCSD about not having it completed.

Well you could still just take it, then you have an advantage when you take stats at a UC. But if money is an issue then hold off on it. I always had the board of governors fee waiver, so tuition fees were always waived at a cc for me.

Biostat100A is a piece of cake.
