staying at USNA the night before I DAY

Jake will be staying at the academy the night before. Any one else?

Nope, I'm staying at the Marriot and will be walking over in the morning, no need to make the summer any longer!

Is he staying with a friend?

I might be.

Does anyone know if we ask the academy to arrange transportation if it will be the 27th or the 28th (or will it depend on reporting times)?

we're staying at the loews hmm but we'll be there a few days early.

dictatoranna

The Permit to Report package states that if you're arriving alone to stay in Bancroft the night before, transportation will be arranged on the 27th.

Well I am staying in bancroft that night too. Mainly because I have to report on the 26th, but thats a whole other thing.

so who else is not gonna be able to get a wink of sleep the night before I-Day?

I'm gonna have to make my dad drug me or something...maybe shoot me with a tranquilizer gun...

i'm staying with a relative of a friend of a friend of my grandma's. whew. that's a pretty long string. he graduated from USNA and used to teach calc there. i'll probably keep him up all night w/ questions. ahhhh!!!! i'm scared/nervous/excited/anxious/worried/etc.

I hear ya, DMeix. I'm predicting maybe a few hours...max...lol

haha i had been thinking about that too...anxiety will be killer

It's been 20 years, and just the memories of that night scare the hell out of me.

Waking up the next morning was worse...

im predicting a standard underway sleep night, something like 3-4 hours. Should be pretty normal. I am not used to these 8 hour of sleep nights like yall are. Should be nice to get some rest.

Haha...8 hours...I wish...

I stay up too late and hate myself in the morning.

We'll be at the Navy Lodge the night before. The women's swim team is having a picnic for the plebe swimmers (12 at last count) so we should have a good distraction for a couple of hours.

Hope they slip a sedative into my lemonade! I am going to need it.

Fergs, you may only get 3-4 hours of sleep a night, but if you are like my husband, you can fall asleep anywhere. anytime. Those bubbleheads learned to make the most of any opportunity to snooze.

My daughter and I will be staying at a local Bed and Breakfast, just 1/2 block away the night before. Walking in for check in on Induction day.

Zaphod shudders....

Brother, ain't THAT the truth!

Even if I do fall asleep the night before, I will be waking up every 30min or so making sure my alarm clock is still working probably hahaha

beachmom-lol my swim coach sent out an email asking us if we could go to the picnic.

I think if I were coming by myself I would stay in bancroft. My DD had to report early (Napster) and really, it was wonderful for her. Kind of like sneaking in under the radar. You can be there, and learn a couple things before your classmates and just be there to get adjusted without the hoopla of all the parents being there on I-Day. You guys though are probably right about sleeping. My DD was very nervous (moreso at NAPS I-Day) and couldn't eat and hardly slept. Just par for the course I think.
