Okay I know this may seem like a dumb question.... but I cant seem to stay focused for the whole test.I know I can into the high 20 or low 30s its just my focus goes down hill after the math usually. I will start freaking out or just blank out. Are there any tips or suggestions anyone has to help me out? chewing gum? mints? really anything!

Thanks

It sounds like the break may throw you off. Especially since all of the really intense reading sections are after the break where you really need to focus.

It can be really difficult to focus on the reading and science sections, particularly because they are right after the break. Eat something during the break, clear your mind, and when the test continues just try to keep your mind on the test (although it’s difficult). Maybe try some timed practice tests with the same ten minute break, and see what helps you focus. I have trouble focusing on reading and science too (they aren’t very interesting). Good luck!

Try to “trick you brain” into thinking it is the most interesting material you have ever read. You can do it for 75 minutes. Break it into chunks and just try to focus on one passage for 10 minutes for reading and whatever schedule you have worked out for science.
Also, fresh blueberries help me to focus. I always eat them when I have something I really need to focus on or drink blueberry juice.
Keep practicing, I am sure you will figure out something that works for you. Good luck!
