Staying up...

Stay in a VERY well lit room.
Don't stay in one position for more than 30 minutes.
Don't lay down.
Keep a glass of icewater near you; if you feel yourself getting tired, dip a couple of fingers in the water and rub it on the back of your neck.
Turn the A/C down so that even if your room isn't freezing, it's not warm.
Don't just read from a book or notes, actually do some problems or practice some skills for the test; this will keep you more awake and cognisant, and will ensure that you take something away from the cramming, especially the last few hours in the early morning when words and pages tend to blend together.

haha, interesting...

i don't really like those energy drinks because of all the negative effects afterwards lol... drink lots of COLD things like cold milk, ice water, iced juice/tea, iced coffee, etc! and someone mentioned fruit earlier: yeah, i find that helps as well! munch on a few apples and grapes =) splashing cold water kinda works, but doesn't last very long... listen to some music you can dance to, haha.

Take nodose or those caffein pills. I heard those work wonders...

I have never resorted to all-nighters or even very late nighters before a test. The latest I stayed up for homework was 3am and that was b/c of procrastination. I hope I never have to do this kind of stuff. Your sacrifices are a warning to me to start studying in advance.

^ Wow... 3 o clock? Lucky.

I had to do allnighters because of report papers and such and that was because of procrastination too... <- but almost every high school student suffers from this though.

my friend takes vivarin.

caffeine does nothing for me. i just stay awake.

SWEET, ME TOO.

THEY SEE ME ROLLIN
THEY HATIN
PATROLLIN
TRYIN CATCH ME RIDIN DIRTY yeaaaah

gasolina is great too. some ppl arent cut out for staying up; that doesn't surprise me though.

Hehe... My sis took this pic after taking 6 APs her junior year..
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a141/ElegiacBliss/Stuff/starbucks.jpg
She calls it the secret to AP success XD (They're starbucks bottles)

Adderall, keeps you going all night. Not too good if you aren't prescribed it.

coffee, radio, and tv--best combo ever!

Pick out a CD/playlist you haven't listened to for a long time. It doesn't really need to be loud rap or rock, although that helps for most people. It's just that I find myself falling asleep easily to music that I'm too used to.

Reading outside helps, if you're anything like me. Falling asleep at the desk is like "woo, big deal I have keyboard marks on my face", but there's a huge incentive to not falling asleep outdoors and also nothing to do but read.

That doesn't really work midhours of the night, but then a shower usually helps and it's a nice break to contemplate what you're studying.

lol, that is a very creative idea...but i think i would never intend to try it.

Most of the time, i stay up by not falling into asleep..hah

"not falling into asleep" ....doesn't look like youre very awake blossom

^^I agree. Sleep is the only way the brain gets rest--which is why i catch up on it in class.--lol

Lol, I sleep in class too.. some of my teachers hate me because of that T.T But I can't help that I'm narcoleptic lol j/k

Oh yeah, I forgot.. If you got a friend who's cramming with you... have them call you every once in awhile (on a cell phone.. NOT home phone lol). Lol, it'll keep you both awake. For me and my friend, we study independently but are signed into AIM.. and every once in awhile in the middle of the night, she'll IM me and be like "ARGHHHHHHH!! I hate WHAP!!" and well... that wakes me up XD

adderall is probably the most amazing drug ever. it will keep you going without even wanting sleep.

I think you need at least 6 hours of sleep in order to process information into memory during REM - but maybe if you are cramming you don't need to store any of that information - I think adderall is great too, but really not a good idea to use it to stay awake.

why use drugs when the classroom desk is all you need! :)
lol
