Steinhardt... Does anyone know anything?

Hi... I'm a junior and lately have been doing a lot of research on NYU. I'm interested in Steinhardt, the school of education. However, I cant find any information on it! Everyone is always talking about Tisch, Stern and CAS and how hard they are to get into.... but nothing ever comes up about Steinhardt.

Does anyone know anything about Steinhardt? Is it easier to get into than the other schools? Harder? Do less people apply to this school? What are the average GPA/SATs and all of those fun facts?

If anyone applied to Steinhardt or even attended... I would love some feeback.

Thanks

I believe Steinhardt is one of the (in comparison to other NYU schools) easier to get into, but of course, like all other NYU schools, it is competitive. According to the Steinhardt site, there are 2200 undergrads in the school, so let's say approximately 600 freshman. Most people apply to CAS (I think I heard like 20,000) and it's the biggest school. They probably accept somewhere around 1000 or so at Steinhardt. I don't know how many applicants there are.

I applied to Steinhardt (Communications Major) this year and recently got a "Sunday in the Square" invite, so I think that means I'm in. My stats are:

SAT: 2140
SAT II: 750, 710
GPA: 3.7 UW
ECs: French Club (leadership), run my own business, web designer, 4 year varsity swimming, bunch of other stuff

If the "Sunday" thing indicates that I'm at the top of the pool (I honestly don't know), then I'm assuming many are accepted with lower stats.

I hope that helps!! What major are you applying to next year?

GOOD LUCK!

Hi... thanks so much for the info! I would be applying to be as an English Education major. I havent taken my SATs yet, but they will definately be much lower all around than yours. Do you know if they do interviews at Steinhardt? Did you have one?

Thanks so much... congrats on your acceptance!
