Dear,
i was accepted in both schools. The american academy of dramatic arts is twice expensive, though one year shorter.
anyone here have experience in those schools? I am looking for good training and great experience. Stella Adler seems to practice one acting method- their understanding of Stanislavski method, while the Academy uses the variety of techniques.
Any comments are highly appreciated.
thanks

I researched both fairly extensively as a backup if my daughter had not gotten in to any of her audition schools. For what its worth, Stella Adler was on the list we would have applied to and AADA was not. She went there for a summer so that was part of it. But also, I think today it is just more well regarded. AADA had its day when it was one of the elite training places. I just don’t think it is any more.

do you think Stella Adler would be a good summer program to go to? My son gets some summer stipends and i am going to encourage him to take intensive acting classes at least one summer. thanks.

I don’t know in particular what summer programs they run for current college students. I know my daughter had a great experience with their teen program. I think you just have to look around at the offerings. There are no shortage of NYC places where you can get good summer training.

thanks actingdad :)
