I read on the umich site, that student only can apply to this school after their freshmen year. And before this they must apply to college of science, art or literature. I can't understand, i'm majoring in buisness and so if I'm accepted at UMICH i won' study at buisness school or what??

u can. assuming you're accepted to the b-school after f year

yes but what can i do during the freshmen year? where to study?

You apply/enroll to LSA if you're not accepted into the B-School as a freshman. In LSA you have to take all of the courses that are prerequisites to the b-school. Then, during freshman year, you apply to the b-school.

You don't HAVE to apply your freshman year. You can apply your senior year of high school as a preferred admit, although the chances of accceptance is very low. If you're accepted through preferred admit, you will be basically guaranteed entrance into Ross withou applying your freshman year.

I finished my sophmore year at my school. I'm going to send application in October or november (when im going to be senior in my high school). after i will finish my high school, and if UMICH accepts me, im going to study there, but i read in the application form that you can only enroll in Stephen M. Ross school of buisness during the senior year in umich. Sorry if it sounds dumb, but it means that when i finish my high school, and after this will go to the college, the first year i won't study at b-school and only in my sophmore year i will be enrolled there?

Let's see if I can explain this is an easy-to-understand way.

There is a three year BBA program at Michigan and a two year BBA program. These programs are at the Ross School of Business.

Normally you apply to these programs at the end of freshman year or the end of sophomore year in college.

Michigan now offers a special program in which they preadmit a small group of highly qualified high school seniors. These students still spend a year at LS&A, but they are guaranteed admission to the business school after one year (provided they meet their requirements).

Most likely, you will be applying to the business school at the end of your freshman year in college. Before then, during your college freshman year, you can major in anything (or undecided), but you must do certain required classes. They are calculus, the freshman writing requirement, and Economics 101.

Keep in mind that admissions for the business school is highly competitive, so you must maintain a strong GPA (around 3.6).

To add to what lockz said, from now on, there is NO two year program. Everything is three year.

yep.. no more 2 year.

Please, if you are going to apply to Ross, make sure you spell BUSINESS correctly. Thank you.

hahahaha wow.. i just noticed the OP spelled it wrong o_O

What are you guys talking about? He spelled it right, it's buisness fools. Bu-is-ness.

No, really, it's business. Two syllables.

lol. O RLY?

:D

Oh dear goodness, did I miss something? I miss stuff a lot.

Christine, this is an example of the difference between the math and B-School students sense of humor. ;) I think we're just as weird as you guys, just in a different way!

Chickenlord is yanking someone's chain, as we say in my backwoods part of the country.

I thought I sounded too normal to be a math major? Hehe...

Dear goodness, sarcasm is hard to read online.

I got a mailing from the B-School and it said that 97% of the students accepted were in LS&A their freshman year.

Does that mean that the remaining 3% were transfers or were in other colleges their freshman year (like Engineering, Kinesiology, Nursing, etc) because I thought that everyone was in LS&A their first year and then applied to their school sophomore year.

a2wolves.. it's actually..

"97% attended the University of Michigan in either the College of Literature, Science & the Arts (LS&A), Engineering or Natural Resources and the Environment."

that's what it says in the bba program class profiles they sent me when i requested information from them. also, it said that 364 students were in that class.. so basically 11 out of the 364 were from somewhere else besides the schools listed.

also.. EVERYBODY doesn't go straight into LSA. if you apply to the engineering school as a freshman, you go into the engineering school right away. none of that pre-admit stuff like the b-school.
