In most parts of the world, university is free and therefore a completely different experience, and people generally go to the local school. So if you’re going to pay $200k to go to a foreign university when you could go to one in your home country for so much cheaper, wouldn’t you want it to be one of the best universities in the world? It’s not like Emma Watson was gonna come all the way here to study at SUNY Albany :p(no offense guys). The reason American colleges attract so many internationals is because they offer opportunities you couldn’t get elsewhere.

Anyway…Being Gay and having a roommate, help!!!
I’m gay, how do I tell my roommate? Should I leave college?

Even though I only have a 3.0GPA, mediocre ECs and a 2000 SAT, I can’t believe Yale didn’t accept me. Instead, they chose the token minority and gave him my spot!

^ there are thousands of universities in the world, perhaps hundreds of thousands, and Brown is in the top 20…you can’t be serious. Or that was supposed to be a stereotypical CC post and I’m just being dense? haha

I have been a straight a student ever since pre-school through college. But got a b+ on my last yr final. Will that ruin my chance of starting off making $250k/yr??!!111oneoneone!!!111!

“Accepted to Princeton, Yale, and Stanford…rejected from Harvard…■■■!”

“What prepbooks should I use? I’m planning to self-study AP Physics C, AP Calculus BC (taking the AB class, though), AP Macro/Microecon, and AP Comp Gov.”

“When a school says they expect four years of English, does that mean they want four credits, or do they want me to have taken English for four consecutive years?”

My favorite CC posts are the ones that include:

College abbreviations like UW, UT, USC, etc, with no explanation of exactly WHICH UW, UT, USC they are referring to.

Students trying to decide between top-10 schools with the word “definitely” spelled “definately.”

Students with unweighted GPAs OVER 4.0.

Students who are having a tough time deciding between completely opposite schools (Wake Forest and Brandeis, Berkeley and Boston College, BYU and Wesleyan).

Students who want “open-minded” schools, and people recommend the usual dogmantic left-wing supspects, Hampshire, Bard, Reed, Wesleyan, Evergreen State.

Sticky: “A-Z List on what to bring to college”

New Posts!

“What should I pack for college?”
“Should I bring my marijuana plant and will the RA find out?”
“Should I bring this to college…?”
“Should I use my Coach bag as a backpack?”
“What NOT to bring to college?”
“Am I packing too much?”
“D1 HASN’T STARTED PACKING YET!!! ***FF!!!”

I also like the ones that are like “I have a 4.0 unweighted gpa, lots of APs, a 2300 SAT, tons of ECs, and I’m black. Do you think I can get into Rutgers?”

Should I have two or three really good friends??? I think I’ve only had one real friend up until now, I think. I was wondering if more friends would take up to much time. Is this true??? Should I do my history or math homework first??? How many hours a week should I spend in my dorm??? Should I spend more time with my friend from across the hall or my room mate?? Oh and I know I’m only a freshman in college, but what should I do to give my future S and D the best chance at getting accepted to the local community college??? Thanks, lulz!!

Do [insert race] girls like [insert another race] guys?

-WOW some people don’t know how to take sarcasm**

Parents of the Class of ______

Where do you guys shop??

**-My parents are willing to pay only x amount of money. Should I go to Harvard and pay or should I go to my state flagship U and get a full ride?

-Go wherever your heart tells you to go. Have you visited each campus?**

Students trying to decide between top-10 schools with the word “definitely” spelled “definately.”

^That word really is hard to spell! It took me ages to realize it’s spelled with the root word “definite”

“The University of <whatever state=”" you’re=“” from=“”> is far inferior to The University of <whatever state=“” i’m=“” from=“”>. I mean, if you check USNWR, the absolute authority on college superiority, you will clearly see that mine is ranked higher than yours in so many areas. The link is provided below in case you don’t believe me and as further proof of my research skillzzz. The evidence is incontrovertible."</whatever></whatever>

I have decided exactly how to decorate our dorm room. I’ve decided to bunk the beds and fill it with every known item of furniture or appliance known to man. My roommate refuses to go along with this plan and pay for half of it. She is so unreasonable! How can I convince her to do things the way I want. I’m entitled to this because I live further away from school than she does, as well as everything is about me.
