*stereotypical title here*

I thought I'd do another one of these thread things because I just finished applying to schools. I didn't apply early anywhere, mostly because I'm indecisive and really need to see financial aid offers. I'm applying to Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, Yale, UVa, Georgetown, UChicago, Northwestern, Barnard, and Wellesley. I already got into a public state school, so I have a safety all worked out and everything.

I have a 4.0 unweighted GPA, 4.46 out of 5.0 weighted. I have 5s on the AP tests in US History, English Language, and Euro History, and I plan on taking this year BC Calc, English Literature, US Government, and Psychology. I have a 2230 SAT, with 720 math, 710 writing (11 essay subscore), and 800 reading. I have 720 Math II, 690 French, and 660 Literature for SAT IIs. I'm an AP Scholar, National Merit Scholar, and National Honors Society.

I'm the PR manager of French Honor Society, was president of French Club, and a member of NHS, National English Honors Society, and Rho Kappa. I am the president of our school's Model United Nations, and I took part in their summer program. I am a contributor to our school's literary magazine, and I have done all sorts of community service, from working at the local library to collecting over 500 books for children's hospitals.

I fence as well, both foil and epee. I play piano occasionally, I love to read and write. I have some pretty stellar essays, since I am haunted by the ghosts of my past.

(That was sarcastic, by the way. Kind of)

I'm planning on focusing in International Security/International Law with a focus on Middle Eastern conflict.

God, writing all that out is dreadful. Thoughts?

How competitive are you at fencing - will you be recruited, do you intend to fence in college (club?)
Did you apply to your state school’s honors college and is it within budget for your parents? Don’t you want to apply to a few matches - those would be colleges with 40% or more admission rate that you like and can afford.
Are you in-state for UVA? (It’s much harder from OOS). Wellesley and Barnard would be matches except for the selectivity level, which makes them low reaches.
All other schools on your list are “reaches for everyone”.

I intend to fence club, though I’m pretty decent. I’ve been out because of a concussion, though. Yes, I got into my state school’s honors college, and it is certainly within reach financially.

As for instate Uva - no, but I wish, because it is very hard OOS.
