ok, you guys know the drill...

I've resisted but I've failed. So please chance me! <3 Here are my creds...

White, female, highly regarded (and crazy-insane rigorous) private school student (currently a Junior). From Philadelphia suburbs.

GPA - well...my school doesn't really do GPA. Or class rank, for that matter. It's a weird setup, I know. However my overall grade average is typically in the B+ range (Honors).

SATs - 610 CR / 590 M / 790 W
1990 total

I'm taking them again in June...obviously I need to up the ante with the CR and M. Then again, I haven't really done any prep work, so I suppose it's not that bad for that. Maybe. o.O;

Future SAT II Subject Tests:
French, US History, Math I, Japanese w/Listening

CLASSES

Freshman:
English II Honors

Mainly A's and B's. Though Math was a C.

Sophomore:

Algebra II Accelerated
Again, mainly A's and B's, though Math was a C. Then again, due to a scheduling conflict I was put in a higher level math class than I should have been in, so it's not entirely my fault.

English IV AP
French IV Honors
Spanish III Honors

Trigonometry & Functions
Biology (regular)

Asian Club (3 years, head this year)

Leadership:
Multicultural Board Representative (next year)

I suppose it's also important to note that I studied abroad in Japan two summers ago for 6 weeks, and that this summer I'm going to be attending a 4 week screenwriting workshop thing in LA (Universal Studios, Hollywood to be more precise). That's via NYFA.

Via my school I've also studied in Mexico for 2 weeks and for 2 weeks I went to an Indian Reservation in the extreme northwest of Washington state and helped create a documentary on the tribe there.

I also have a part-time job - I work at a movie theatre. Mainly concession. :P

CHOICES
I'm really interested in becoming a screenwriter for television, but I also want to keep up my Japanese (and study abroad for a year or semester)...and be in a big city. So that narrowed down my choices to these (some of them towards the bottom only have one of the two, due to my need to become slightly more flexible). It'd be nice to go to USC since it has a great location for TV, a good Japanese program, and most importantly, one can double-major across schools. Which would be awesome. :P

USC (top choice)
UCLA (I know, I believe this one qualifies as impossible)
NYU
BU
Pepperdine (they have Japanese but no Japanese major. At least not yet).
UT Austin (my Aunt went there, if that counts for anything anymore)
American
GW (no film)
Emerson (no Japanese)

I'm fairly certain I have good ideas about where I stand for these schools, but it's always nice to get outside opinions. After all, the less you know a person, the more they're likely to constructively criticize you better.

Anyway, I think that's about it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Also if you have a college in mind that I may like but don't have listed feel free to suggest. Thanks in advance for "chancing" me. :3

bump

Pretty please? :3

I think if you get those SAT scores up and do really well on the SAT II's.
The most important thing is to keep hope up and to write unique essays that still show who you are.

B+ average would equal out to what, 3.8-3.9 GPA?? I think UCLA is possible if you raise your SAT a little.
