Stereotyping by College

I’ll give it a go since I live in PA: people who want to go to a great and affordable school with terrific in-state connections…and for those who want to walk around not feeling weird when they dress as Joe Pa.

Georgetown

Smart kids, some spoiled ones but not all, mostly from well-to-do preppy areas who want to go into politics

Texas A&M

Hicks from Texas

Loyola Marymount University?

if you can’t go into a good school… might as well go to somewhere you never heard of

USC

Rich, beautiful, snobby smart kids

fordham

Kids who couldn’t get into NYU

Gerogetown University?

Future politicians on Capital Hill

Loyola University New Orleans

People who couldn’t spell Capitol ;)

Frostburg State University

People who are lucky to go to college at all

Occidental College?

Dartmouth?

Frats, frats, and a lil’ bit of sororities. But people know how to work hard there.

University of Miami (FL)?

NYU Stern (The business school)

University of Miami: Party school on the beach

NYU Stern: People who couldn’t get into Wharton or Columbia, but the kids are still smart.

Middlebury?

Rich, smart, uppity lib arts kids.

University of Central Florida?

Generic public school

Kenyon College?

Kenyon: Liberal arts school with a Midwest feel – and students to match.

Wustl?

Those who go there never heard of it before they were upperclassman in high school and submitted their apps because they didn’t have to write an essay (and it said on US News that WUSTL was a top fifteen school). When it turned out to be one of the best schools they got into, they actually found out it was a great research school with a lovely campus - and were quite happy to go. But amongst people that aren’t college-savvy, they have to put up with the endless looks of befuddlement at its very naming; however, amongst those who ARE in fact college-savvy, they have to put up with constant comments involving stat inflation.

(I still like WashU mind you, and am happy they gave me admittance without me having to write an essay :P)

Swarthmore

Very smart, very liberal, probably wanna work for non-profits or academia
