Steven Spielberg was rejected from USC.

For all of you budding, young, talented, up and coming actors, playwrights, directors and techs. When you are feeling down about being rejected from any of your top colleges and start to doubt your talent and career path, Keep in mind that our most successful director to date was rejected from a world renown theatre/film school. Work hard and never lose sight of your dream!

Very valid point! :)

Keep on keepin’ on!

he was not only rejected once, but TWICE! Crazy, huh?

Even though Mr. Speilberg was sent a letter of regret from SC he has contributed heavily to the USC School of Cinematic Arts and serves on the governing board of the school. He is often seen on campus and speaks from time to time to students at the school. Mr. Speilberg attended CSULB.

I believe he also has a graduate program there where only about 4 or 5 kids are admitted. My nephews’ friend was one of the lucky ones.

I made a list, for D, of the most successful actors we know (that is, not famous, but steadily working on great projects)-- their undergrad degrees were from-- Bowling Green State, Regis College…and the list goes on. One did go to Minn/Guthrie-- it was the first year of that program and she didn’t get accepted anywhere else. It’s so hard to remember it at this time of year-- but it is you who will make your career, not the school you attend.
