Steven Spielberg, the most acclaimed director in the history of the movie industry, did not get into UCLA- film school. Nor did he get into USC film school.

So he went to Cal State Long Beach and look what he's done with his life...

Proof that life doesn't end at Stanford's stupid rejection letter.

hah well durran i must say with that kinda attitude, and the whole glass is always half empty mentality, you wont be a steven spielberg or opera or any other successful person, no matter how many there are out there

i mean obviously dont be too hopeful but just send your best stuff and work on other admissions .. i know it sucks to be deferred because everything is learning toward the rejection side, literally, percentage wise, but nothing much anyone can do about it.

If you mean how many movie directors are there, plenty. If you mean how many STEVEN SPIELBERGS, just one. He's kind of become the Tiger Woods of movie directing...complete monopoly or so to say in his field. You can say all this crap about M. Night Shyamalan or George Lucas but if you were to ask the average person who the best movie director ever is, they'll say Steven Spielberg.

Steven Spielberg was actually rejected from USC Film three times. When they offered him an honorary degree years later, he said he would accept if the lady who rejeceted him would sign it- three times.

Shh, don't say that i'm a cornell fan at heart HERE!! you wanna get my tail busted or somethin?? They'll pop a cap in my ass lolz
But yeah, i'm sorry, it just takes a little time, there's a lot of good advice here for getting over these nasty rejections :(
good night dear, enjoy the snow day tomorrow :)_

Bill Gates, the wealthiest person in the world, did not complete his college degree.
So he founded Microsoft and look what he's done with his life....
Proof that life doesn't end if you don't go to college?
Give me a break.
