On my big spreadsheet o’ school info, the Application Fee column for Baldwin Wallace reads: FREE!

Hartt was free for the application and audition if you applied by November 1st last year.

Thank you @maMTma and @LoveMyMTGirl! I am plugging all this into my spreadsheet right now!

Otterbein recommends a student not apply until after they learn if they pass the pre-screen. addicted2MT, I think the amount of talent scholarship awarded can be very individual at different schools. I know of an applicant who received twice the amount of the maximum talent award stated on the school’s website. On the other hand, I think Coastal Carolina sticks to the stated $6,500 talent award amount.

Thanks, @entertainersmom! btw-the number of zeroes by the “standard” amount you listed under CC got me excited for about a milli-second.

Lol! :))
That amount would make my son’s decision process soooo much easier!

Don’t know why everyone is shocked. For years, financial advisors have been saying that a college education would cost around $200K by 2014.

They also said that diversification would reduce risk. Ahem, 2007-2008…cough, cough.

JKellynh17:

If you didn’t sell, that portfolio would be looking pretty good right now.

Yeah, we’re doing okay, thanks @sparksflying, though I wish we’d moved more to bonds in 2006 and 2007.

If you reinvested your dividends and cap gains during that time, more shares were acquired on the cheap…real cheap.

…just realized I needed to add in-state for FSU as well…
As you receive a 2014-15 Financial Aid Award Letter please cut and paste this section to your reply box and add your school in alphabetical order.

Here is something interesting. Son just received his FA info today for Otterbein and the dc is $41,084. He would be attending as an Acting BFA, MTMajorCook’s son is MT BFA. This difference in price could be related to the courses taken or maybe the private voice lessons that are automatically part of the MT package.

Interesting, I took that figure right from the letter too.

I hope someone adds Texas State soon. We keep hearing about how inexpensive it is so it will be great to see their baseline numbers.

Oh no, you don’t want Texas State baseline numbers…they make you cry harder when you don’t get in!!! :(( LOL they are wonderful to the pocket book!!

Just wanted to see it in numerical order…

For the state schools perhaps we should show 2 listings - one for in state and one for out of state. And maybe we need 2 lists. One for dc and one for total costs. The difference between direct and total cost estimates are why many of the ones at the beginning of the list are lower so be aware. Remember if its listed as dc that is only tuition, room and board and there are other costs to be accounted for. Again, just cautioning you to make sure you’re comparing apples to apples and accounting for all costs when possible.

Hats off to @vvnstar the list is much more useful based on cost, rather than alphabetical order.

CCU could change slighty as I figured a 2% increase over 2013-2014 COA figures. That was the percent increase over 2012-2013. Just wanted to get it on the list. I added it based on out-of-state costs since the majority of the BFAs are from out of state.
