I submitted my application January 19th for the Fall semester. Everything has been completed for months now. About two months ago my status was updated to:

Your application for admission to the University of Florida for the Fall 2012 term has been referred to your college for a final decision

I still have not received a decision so I am getting nervous as if I'm accepted it will be late and I'd have to rush to get everything in order for Fall. Meanwhile I have been accepted to FAU(local for me) and begun filling out information preparing as if I am going there for sure. Just curious if UF accepts me, really late and it's impossible for me to make my move in time would I be able to delay my admission and go to FAU this semester?

Just a tough situation to be in with things approaching quickly.

Call them and badger them with when they will make a decision. I heard it works to speed up the proceess, for most people on here.

I’d definitely call them. What specific major and college did you apply to?

As I understand it, FAU is a four year university and if you were to enroll there for a semester you would not be able to just delay your admission and go to UF in the spring. You would most likely have to go through the application process all over again. I know for sure that once you have been admitted you cannot commute that admission to another term, but I guess that is a little different considering as of now they have not given you an answer.

However, since you’ll already be calling the office to ask about your admission I’m sure they would be more than happy to answer your question about deferring enrollment and going to FAU for a semester.

A lot of people on here have been in the same situation as the OP, and they simply have to make a gamble and choose to either wait or enroll elsewhere. It happens.

I’m in the same boat. It’s really stressful. I applied in May though, (2 months before app deadline) and have received the same notice about application being sent to my college etc…It’s a month away from the semester and I still have not heard back from any schools. I applied to Warrington College of Business at UF. I’m going to call tomorrow and let them know I am concerned.

I got hear back few weeks ago, and I got accepted to the Fisher accounting school!
Good luck guys

Call and annoy them until they tell you because you would still have to go to a two day orientation before they are over.
