Still better to write this letter of recommendation?

<p>So I was going through my college list and assigning recommenders and I was on the University of Wisconsin Madison online application page when I realized I couldn't find where to assign my recommender. So I searched up if UWM needed a teacher recommendation letter, and I found this:</p>

<p>"Though not required, we would like to see at least one recommendation from someone who can attest to your academic ability. "</p>

<p>So my question is should I still send a letter of recommendation to the school or does it not really matter to them since they are not requiring it. Advice? Am I overthinking this? College pressure getting to me? WILL DA BEARS EVER FIX THEIR DEFENSE!?!?!?!</p>

<p>If you know of a teacher who knows you well and can give you a strong recommendation, absolutely go for it. If the recommendation would be mediocre, don’t bother. </p>
