D Submitted common app and all documents including ACT (electronic submission) before Dec 1st. Application deadline is January 1st (tomorrow) and D just checked online and the college is still showing her ACT report as not received. Is it even possible they didn’t receive it? It said the school uses electronic delivery when she requested / paid for it. Should I go ahead and order it again (before the app deadline) just to be safe? I did try calling the school early last week, but got transferred around and ended up listening to someone’s line ringing and ringing…no answer…no voicemail… So, I gave up. Between the holidays and work, We forgot about it and now it’s obviously too late to call. The website basically says to give it a few weeks for the info to be updated, so I didn’t want to hound them, but now I’m worried. It’s been a month. If I can prove I ordered / paid for it a month ago, will they still consider her app on time?
Call ACT and ask them when it was sent.
It is possible with the holidays that the school has it but just hasn’t logged it into the system.
Colleges aren’t great about immediate updating of materials rec’d. You don’t have to do anything. If, when it comes to looking over your kid’s files, they discover anything missing – they call you or your kid’s school. Logical and humane.
Colleges spend millions of dollars collectively, trying to get your kid to submit. They aren’t going to install a pit right at the finish line.
As much as your kid wants to be admitted to dream college X, the colleges want you to find a way to enroll him/her as well. Don’t forget that.
^ I agree. It usually takes days to over a week to see the portal updated. With the holidays in between, I would not be surprised if that is still not updated by now. You should check with the admission office and your ACT order history.
