I live in NorCal and haven't heard back from Vanderbilt yet - my mail already came today and nothing from them. I have a friend who lives a couple blocks away who heard back yesterday (accepted), and I know a few other people who have heard back, not sure if they were accepted or rejected though. I was wondering if I should be worried, or if they scatter their letters based on acceptance/rejection or alphabet or whatever. Any info would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Well, people in my post district have been accepted, rejected, and waitlisted. I, along with another applicant, have heard nothing. They say you can call on the 30th, which is probably what I’ll do. I don’t see why they can’t just email it by now.

I live in NYC and haven’t heard back either. Probably some mail got lost/displaced in transit.

I live in CT and still havent heard yet. I’m pretty annoyed because it seems like everyone else has heard by now. I hope it isnt because I was rejected.

I’m in Georgia and still haven’t heard…

Guys, not to be a downer, but there’s a decent chance we didn’t get accepted. If the acceptance lives inside a big envelope, then it probably is two day shipping has less opportunities to be lost.

The admissions office said that all mail, accepts, rejects, and waitlist, was sent 2-day priority. It’s probably just lost in the system, don’t fret :)

Still waiting for notification in metro Wash. DC

DS was wait listed and received a letter in a regular size envelope via first class mail on Mon - not priority mail.

Sent from my iPhone using CC

Very interesting mominsc. That is not what the admissions receptionist told me. That would partially explain the lag as I am expecting waitlist or rejection given the scores I’m seeing.

I could be wrong, but doesn’t priority mail = first class mail? I don’t think they’ve used the labels “first class”, “second class”, etc. in years…just trying to remember the sign from my last trip to the post office…

Nothing in the mail again today in Boston area.

I’m going to venture a guess that all of the envelopes were sent via metered, first class postage. Priority mail is 2-3 day delivery, but the rates are around $5 per envelope - I cannot imagine that Vanderbilt will spend thousands of dollars for postage.

Yes, the acceptances go out Priority Mail (yes, at $5 a shot).

Rejections and wailists go out first class.

Our mail comes very late (around 4-5 pm) so hoping today is the day!

Just got the mail here in MA and still have not received a letter!

No letter here in Norcal either but I know someone in my class who got their Vandy letter and is waitlisted… But nothing in the mail today.

I don’t think the priority vs first class mail is the reason for the delay. Someone who lives two streets over from me recieved a rejection letter on Monday and I have still not heard (mail came today w/o letter). I’m not sure exactly what is causing the difference in the time for the mail to get here (NJ) but it probably isn’t the postage.

I am a little worried that it’s so late it must be first class…
