<p>I'm with you. My app has been complete since the 17th of Jan. Not sure why I havent heard anything from them yet.</p>
<p>My D hasn't heard yet, though she probably wouldn't go to Michigan anyway. She applied in mid-December. She is already in at Northwestern, Carleton, Grinnell, and probably Vanderbilt (admissions officer tried to recruit her last week).</p>
<p>I find it strange not hearing when so many others have heard.</p>
<p>No mystery, really; it's the nature of rolling admissions in an uncertain year. they've postponed making decisions on a lot of the good solid applicants. </p>
<p>Every week they weigh (figuratively) the apps they've gotten, the apps that are still being evaluated, what early yield trends look like, and so on, and then decide how deep to go in the pool of waiting students. They try to be consistent, but some weeks they may go a little deeper than others before tightening up again. Sometimes the picture changes from one week to the next. So whether or not you've heard, when your neighbor has or hasn't, both depends on how the two of you have been evaluated, and when your apps were completed. Not everyone hears at the same time; Michigan doesn't operate that way.</p>
<p>Hoedown, I assumed much of what you are saying. Her HS sends a lot to Michigan, so my guess is that Michigan is trying to get some indication how interested in coming some of her admitted classmates are.</p>

<p>thats so lame... they will be the last school i hear from. what makes them think that they are so great that they can wait till mid-april to notify. that makes me so mad. whatever im going to Tufts</p>

<p>I haven't heard either. Also if everyone would be kind enough to look on their U-M friend account to see when the last item of their app was processed (i.e. teacher recommendation, school transcript, etc) then we might be able to fit the pieces of the puzzle together.</p>
<p>UMich is the only university in the US that I haven't heard from as yet.</p>
<p>Oh good. I just looked at amrik's stats and felt relieved... so it has nothing to do with the stats.. maybe they do international students last? who knows.</p>
<p>No I think my application was completed very late. (3rd world mail is very unreliable, they usually open the letters to see if there is any money inside and then seal 'em back.) Also I am not international, I am a citizen living abroad.</p>
