I've applied to both Columbia and Yale and haven't heard from either yet about an interview. I applied RD but got my application in, in early November. Should I be worried that I haven't heard yet? :/

Same with me. It’s probably just that the alumni in your region have not been able to contact you. That could be for a variety of reasons; the alumni you have been assigned to might just be extremely busy, or the alumni in your area are overbooked for the foreseeable future. It has nothing to do with the quality of you as an applicant or anything like that. The alumni aren’t supposed to know anything about your scores or grades so it has nothing to do with your application, just that they haven’t been able to get to you yet.

Depending on where you are and how many alumni interviewers there are in your area, it might be awhile before you are notified, and you might not be contacted at all.

Show the curiosity and resourcefulness that Y likes to see in an applicant: use the Search function to find out when people were interviewed last year.

I haven’t been notified to interview, either. I’m glad to see I’m not the only one!

More than half of the applicants in my area have not been contacted yet. We just don’t have enough interviewers to meet the local demand. We’ll get through a bunch more but it is unlikely we’ll make it to everyone.

I haven’t either, and most of the people I know who applied to Yale have already done their interviews. We probably just have to wait a bit longer. :(

wow, i am glad that im not the only one as well!
I too applied both to Columbia and Yale, and haven’t been notified for interview for both of the colleges.

Oh good I’m glad I’m not the only one! I heard they don’t pre-screen applicants which makes me feel better. I only hope this is true.

I do know a girl from my area who applied to Yale and Brown last year but I didn’t know her well enough to ask her if she ever got a Yale interview (we were only Facebook friends haha). I do know she didn’t have her Brown interview until mid-February… So much waiting and wondering… sigh

My friend applied EA for Yale and was interviewed a month before the notification date. As for Columbia, I heard they do most of their interviewing in February. (I applied to both and haven’t heard from either yet as well.)

Does it depend on when you sent in your application or is it mostly a random process of allocation?
