Still Tortured by Swat, 2 Months Later

So today I received an email from Swat telling me to check the status of my application, here is the user name, blah blah blah.

The problem is that I got this email before and was rejected ED1. Haha.

So I emailed Admissions to give them a heads-up that their alert system must be wrong. Just trying to figure out where the problem was.

... It's just really sick because you hear all those stories about how people got the wrong letter and I did hope that I was actually deferred and not rejected. Pah.

Have any other people had this problem?

Evil Swat- toying with my heart.

Haha, if anyone else got this email, it was a computer glitch (like I expected). Just putting a warning out there...

yeah, i received this email too; what do you mean it was a computer glitch? my password didn't work either, but i emailed admissions anyway to tell them i was unable to login. btw, i'm really sorry that you did not get accepted ed1, really. i'm applying to swat ed2 and there is honestly not a day that goes by that i don't think about the school; it's an upsetting thought to me, i mean the idea of rejection, and as difficult as it is, i'm trying to be prepared for the worst. what schools are you applying to now?

I mean that if you were rejected ED and you got the email, it was a glitch. Obviously ED rejectees shouldn't be getting mail from dear ol' Swat.

Best advice I can give is to use this time to FALL IN LOVE WITH YOUR OTHER SCHOOLS. Really. I was thinking about Swat constantly and it STINKS if you get rejected. Don't even think about 'what you'd do if you were accepted,' etc. It just makes it more hard.

...That being said, good luck! I hope you get in and love your time there.

Phew, now I'm applying to (to name a few): Vassar, Bryn Mawr, Northeastern, Colgate, and a lot more (more matches than I have listed here). I probably applied to too many. That's okay, I'd be happy to go to any of them.

YAY, you applied to Bryn Mawr after all!

Froghorn- Haha, mostly because of you. And their essay isn't bad at all, it was actually pretty nice to write. I'll visit, I don't think the all-girls thing should be such a deal-breaker as I thought it was before...

UG i got it too. it made me sooo mad. well first i thoguht "OH! i didnt' get rejected!" and then they emialed me again saying, "woops sry" thanks, swat, thanks, you're a real darling

:) Brillar. You'd like BMC, I bet. And this oversight of Swarthmore's is inhumane.

Yeah their response email was sort of like:

"Oops, nope, don't worry, you still aren't good enough. Haha."

But not really. I love hyperbole.

I'm sure it was that awful, sanitized **** that all colleges feed the rejected.

thanks brillar! and best wishes to you; i'll defenitely keep an open mind about my other schools, i mean wherever i end up and wherever you end up, they're all great schools!

ya I too received this email but was already rejected in ED1. The funny thing is that I checked the second email, the one correcting the mistake before I checked the first one...lol
