Still waiting for my decision from UMich, but I'm concerned because I applied quite close to the Feb. 1st deadline. I've read conflicting things about how much that may or may not matter; some say that applying close to Feb. 1st can really hurt you because spaces fill up, while others say that applying earlier is definitely better but that applying later may not really matter too much. The main reason I'd find it troubling would be because it may indicate a lack of interest; however, I've also read that UMich on their website cites interest as "considered" in the process, but not as "important" or "very important," so who knows. I was hoping for some more insight?

Another question, while I'm here--I know a few years ago they stopped recalculating GPA and just use whatever the school give on the transcript; my school doesn't calculate GPA, just sends a transcript with letter grades, so I was wondering if anyone knows how that would be handled?

Thanks in advance!
