hi guys!

I am still waiting ... i am so anxious to find out whether i got in or not. I applied nov. 16 when do you think i'll find out?

UConn's pretty bad about mailing acceptance letters and such...
When I applied last year, I applied early too (november 20-something I think) and didn't find out until february, though a lot of my friends found out by december.

^ same. my three friends applied oct. 30 and found out dec. 8 about 40 days later!!! i hope it doesnt come in february...

So, on this subject, what's the key to getting to find out in December? Or is it just luck of the draw as to when you hear back? (I'm asking about this for next year, by the way)

i applied a couple days before the dec. 1 dedline and i got my letter today. IM IN IM IN!!

what were ur stats? It seems the people who are getting in right now are people that have great SAT and GPA's, i doubt there sending rejection letters out yet, in my school our #1 and #3 got in already, noone else heard back.

to be honest, my SATs werent great, but my GPA is oaky, and my essay and recomendations were good.

if u dont mind what were ur stats?

yes, uconn is pretty bad at sending decision letters. seems like they are givign decisions to 'shoo-ins' and as for everyone else, they have to wait longer. bummer.

rcherry is correct! UCONN sends the "shoo-ins" their acceptances immediately. Those students in the above average to average range are grouped together and eventually get their letters. Also, those students applying to the School of Business seem to have to wait longer. I guess because it's one of the more competitive schools. I only know this because my D applied to UCONN last year on or about Dec. 15th and she was accepted on or about Dec. 29th. She was a pre-pharm major. All her friends who applied to the business school had to wait until Feb. EXCEPT the top students who found out immediately. It's kind of wacky but UCONN is trying to attract the top students.

does anyone know if alot of people get waitlisted? and if alot of people get off the waitlist, considering many people apply to uconn as a safety and dont attend??????????
