I want to go to stony brook, and major in applied math, maybe minor in finance, and eventually become an actuary. I've heard mixed emotions about the business and math departments.

Do you guys think that it would be better if i go to stony brook and major in such as stated above, or go to baruch (with a full ride) and major in finance/actuarial science?

I am looking for the best job placement after college.

Thankssssss =)

By full ride, do you mean you got into Baruch's honors program?

Actuarial science is a very peculiar major because the examinations are extremely difficult and whether or not you pass them really decides whether you'll be able to find a job and/or the sort of salary you'll get. Although I would consider Stony Brook a better overall university, I'd have to say that if only Baruch has that particular program, you might be better off there. Plus, I have heard great things about their Honors program and know one of the professors personally - I'm sure you'll be well-prepared.
