Hello! I currently attend Stony Brook University. I am having a very difficult time deciding whether or not to stay; I've grown very fond of New Paltz. I know Stony Brook is technically a better school, but I'm not even sure I'll get into New Paltz if I apply.
I was accepted when I applied in high school, but I turned it down for Stony Brook. I received a 2000 on the SATs, and graduated in the top 10% of my class.
I was a strong candidate back then, but unfortunately, things have changed. I slacked off my freshman year at Stony Brook, and earned myself a 2.4 GPA, with a D in Chem and an F in Calculus. I re-took a Calculus and passed, but my new grade is definitely less than spectacular.
I feel confident in my grades this semester. I solidly believe I could have a 4.0 (non-cumulatively) and I plan on receiving an A in a winter course.
I also did marching band and wind ensemble.
Will I get into New Paltz? And if I do, which should I choose?

Also, I'm an anthropology major.
