<p>Which is better in Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, med school prep/research opportunities, etc. My friend who is a Biochemistry major at my school turned down SB for Rutgers and I was very confused.. I will be attending SBU in the Fall however I am still curious. I know Rutgers is higher in the rankings but this is ONLY for the sciences, I don't care about anything else. Thanks.</p>

<p>You don't have to choose a college just because of the academics. Maybe he just liked the atmosphere at Rutgers better. New Brunswick is beautiful these days....well downtown.</p>
<p>bump..................As far as Gourman rankings, in Bio Stony is about 22 spots higher, in Biochem Rutgers is one spot higher, in Chem I don't think they are list in the top....but overall which school is stronger?</p>

<p>SUNY Stony Brook is awesome for hard sciences. From what I hear, it's more highly regarded than RU.</p>
<p>I say SUNY SB by a lot.</p>
