Thanks for your response supermtt37! I guess you are right that I kind of rushed the visit. I only got the first impression of what I saw. But you said that Newark has alot of business related stuff going on there, is that better for me to go to? And is the Newark campus right in the heart of the city (like nyu, boston university, etc.)?

Yea, I believe the Newark campus is in the heart of the city, but the city is not comparable to NYC or Boston. I would probably advise you to go to New Brunswick for undergrad... there is much more going on. Perhaps grad in Newark might be better.

The way one travels to classes from one campus to another (a very common occurrence) is to use the bus system which runs throughout Rutgers on a regular basis. Students wait at bus stops and catch busses to their classes on the other campuses. It takes about 10 minutes to travel from College Ave. to Busch.

Today, I visit Stony Brook, and Rutgers is VAST compared to Stony. 4 campuses, huge fields... it's 4 or even 5 times larger than Stony Brook. Although Stony Brook's campus is small, I thought that it'd be easier to get to class. They have been doing some renovations on campus because it doesn't look as bad as how I thought it would. The buildings kind of look similar to Rutger's buildings, except a bit more run down. I asked my cousin and my brother's friends for their take on Stony's bussiness program vs Rutgers. Both of them said that I'm better off going to Rutger's New Burnswick's business program. My cousin (taking finance) told me that the business program is ridiculous at Stony. Stony is missing so many classes for business, that you're forced to make up the credits at another school. This alone had a huge impact on my decision.
I am now pretty set on going to Rutgers, and I just have a few questions left. The best dorms are on Busch campus right? Are freshmans allowed to dorm there? Or perhaps even get a chance to pick their own dorms? How are the suites at Rutgers compared to the standard rooms?

Since I'm accepted under Arts and Science for Rutgers, how do I get into the business program? Do I wait till my sophmore year to pick my major? I know the GPA to get into the business program is around 3.4-3.6, but is that really hard to maintain at Rutgers? Thanks guys! I'm one step closer to my choice.

As for dorming I do not think that freshman can get housing on Buch campus. Most freshman will be on Livingston or College Ave. where housing is pretty good and as for choosing dorms, freshman are not allowed to do that either, you are placed in a dorm and from there after you can choose where every you want to live. If you want to major in business you can start of with a PRE-BUSINESS major as a fresman and complete the requirments. Then you will apply in the fall of your sophmore year for entry into the business school for the fall of your junior year. As for maintaing a GPA that is required to go into the business school you have to work hard.

No, I'm pretty sure that freshman will be able to dorm on Busch... BAMM and Davidson will still be freshman, no?

true... I forgot about those halls

But are all of BAMM and Davidson still going tobe freshman dorms next year? Because from what I've been told, I was under the impression that the majority of first-year students next year will be on Livingston. Maybe that just means that there are going to be fewer first-years on College Ave...

I believe everything that was first-year before is remaining first-year. There is still a lot of freshman housing on College Ave (Clothier, Tinsley, Brett, Demerast) and Busch (BAMM and Davidson). From what I can tell, they didn't reduce the amount of first-year housing on any campus.

Guys! I just submitted my enrollment to Rutgers. Do you think I still have a chance at the housings on Busch? The BAMM ones are the best right?

Hey, I just wanted to say that I visited Rutgers NB/Piscataway on Sunday and I liked it alot. I'm a HS Junior, and I'll more than likely be applying to the Ernest Mario school of pharmacy. It seems pretty competitive though, I hope I can get in.

On the bus tour/walking tour I took they led me to believe that I would be able to apply for housing on busch campus my first yr..

Yantastic--

What are your options? BAMM is better than Davidson, if that's all you have to choose between.

Congrats Yantastic! Hope you will enjoy Rutgers as much as I did!

I have a question. I heard from someone that Rutgers' intro chem. classes are weed out classes with an average grade of a C.

All intro classes have an average grade of C... it's a curve. And yea, intro. chem is supposedly pretty hard (I AP'ed out so I don't have personal experience.)

All intro classes have an average grade of C? Does that mean that freshman year is incredibly hard? What kind of curve is it based on..?

A bell curve... this is the reality at pretty much every university.

Thank you guys so much for helping me decide! Everybody's comments and opinion has been extremely helpful to me! THANK YOU! :)

Which one did you pick?

I picked Rutgers! :)
But I'm planning to only stay for a year and transfer out. Not sure where... if I got extremely good grades, maybe on of the top 20 school. I really want to get into Columbia. It's a dreammm, but I guess it's still possible.
