Stony Brook vs Rutgers

that's like my situation ^^^. I'm planning on staying for two years and then transferring into a top 10-20. I heard columbia is a pain to transfer into because of all the general requirements =\

Anyways, good luck. I wish you the best. Aim for a 3.8

TheRoadUntaken, are you at Rutgers now?

Coming here my condition to my parents was that I be allowed to transfer out after my second, if not first, year. I'm nearing the end of my first year, and I couldn't imagine transferring.

To answer your question, yes I am at Rutgers right now.

My experience at Rutgers has been a very pleasant one and I would only transfer out if i got into Harvard, Yale, etc.

Not to rain on anybody's parade, but check the transfer rates at the Ivies. If you think it is hard to get admitted as a freshman!

well yeah, I have been checking. Like I said, if do get in, then cool. If i don't, i like rutgers so its a win win :)

Guys,

I would advise you stick it out and Rutgers. It's a great school, and you will have tons of opportunities. I would focus on that instead of searching for supposedly greener pastures.

It certainly didn't prevent me from going to a great law school.

lawmatt78:
I'm not a student, I'm a mother. Could you talk a little about what you believe the ton of opportunities are at Rutgers? How can students make the best of their 4 years there? How was the graduate school exceptance situation handled?

I think your experience would be very interesting and helpful to a lot of posters.
Thanks

How about Stony Brook vs. Rutgers regarding their science programs?

Is Rutgers campus nicer than Stony's?
