Stop downplaying/overplaying yourself

Just a note: a lot of people that I've seen on this Chances thread are either downplaying/overplaying their stats. A thread title like, "Horrible _____" (insert ECs, grades, test scores, etc.) isn't warranted when you've only gotten a couple Bs, or missed a 2300 SAT score by a few hundred points. It makes me want to chance you less if you downplay (which is what I see a lot of people doing) yourself to get attention. Stop being an attention whore and just post your stats without unnecessary embellishments.

That said, if you're applying to Harvard with a 2.0 GPA I can understand how a specific thread title might be warranted. But in 99.9999% of cases that isn't true.

Let's calm down people and make this an open thread with good vibes, please?

I think you should go hug a tree.

Hahaha, fuzzyfirebunny, I COMPLETELY agree with you! :)

@nuclearpakistan1: thank you, i think i will. :slight_smile:
sorry, not trying to come across as b1tchy, just that it seems like this keeps happening, and its annoying. like an itch that just wont go away, for lack of a better metaphor :P
