I'm only a junior so I guess I shouldn't really be talking, but seriously guys...I feel like I have senioritis as a junior.. the worst year ever to have it. But, senioritis.. well, its kind of stupid. AP tests are at the end of the year and why not work hard and get college credit taking easier classes then you would later. So many people go to college end up not being able to handle it. If you keep up your work habits, then you are much better off. Plus, some colleges check up on you, after you have been accepted. A little senioritis is ok, but don't over do it. When you look back on your life and think that "I could have been valedictorian but I slacked off for a few months and lost it", thats just sad.

stopping senioritis?

because the school of your choice can rescind your admissions if you get a D in a class, below their borderline GPA, etc. Break any of their stipulations and you could receive another letter bringing unpleasant news over the summer. There was an article, too, in the San Jose Mercury newspaper that recalled the story of a De Anza Community College freshman who got accepted into UCSD, but received 2 Ds in his second sem grades. The campus, needless to say, laid the smackdown on him.

hope the senioritis stops soon. because 2nd sem grades do matter. and colleges reserve the right to drop you from their incoming freshman class. but you're not the only one going through it, so join a support group. i did. and all of us are still neurotic perfectionist seniors.

june still seems so far away... but we started our last quarter, so Graduation must be getting closer. YES!

Well Im not worried about getting C's or D's, but I don't see any reason to make sure I get A's in AP classes. But I'm content with B's in my AP's all of a sudden.

Ditto for the homework thing...I used to do my h/w straight after school...now I start at ten and finish at 2 if I'm lucky....Ah...As soon as the decisions get here, it's back to work (assuming that I receive fantastic news, of course, and I fail to drop dead first).

I go to school and I sleep....I get home and I sleep. AND I'm still tired all the time. AP Calc and AP govt are a draaag.

yea, senioritis jr. year is a lot worst than having it senior year....hahahah

Yeah, I usually have all of my homework and studying done by 10 P.M., though I usually stay up later to do "fun" stuff. Tonight it's 9:45 and I'm barely finished with my AP Lang & Comp work and I still need to study for the economics test tomorrow.

I ended up with a C, C, C, and C for my 1st quarter this semester. (Block schedule)... so that's a 2.75 weighted. Going into midterms, it was C, A, C, C. (Yes...I failed my AP Stats midterm. :()

Now that's I'm no longer behind in anything, I think I can pull off a 3.0+ weighted. I missed a lot of school last quarter.

I would like to inform the juniors posting under the Senioritis forum that they have received only a glimpse of what senior year will offer. The days will tick painfully by. The nights and weekends seem to end before they begin. College becomes your one and only thought, ever. Everyone around you, best friends, teachers, parents... dogs... they'll all get on your nerves, because you just can't figure out WHY you're still at school... Enjoy the moderate pleasure you get from school while you still can. Tap it for all it's worth.

I don't know... but I pulled off my first 4.0 UW in the history of my life. I knew that I had to get a 4.0 at least once in my school career and some how coaxed myself to do it.

Of course, for all of those perfect students, I guess it is hard to maintain perfection.

I can't get myself to do any work now either though. The bright light of the monitor just seems to draw me towards it. I must resist, but I cannot. If I could plot my senioritis, then it would look a lot like exponential function. :)

Personally, I think the only way to combat senioritis is to force yourself to always be doing something. For me, I took up a "hobby" that is almost incredibly boring so therefore each evening seems to be so much longer and then I have enough time to actually do my homework. Remember, boring days are longer.

yeah so I've never gotten anything lower than a 3.8 and I have a D in Calc right now!!!! The worst part is.... I don't even care! how is it going to look to colleges if I got straight A's 1st semester and then a D second!? Of course I am assuming I'll get this raised up, but still!

i'm pretty sure my school only reports final grades...therefore my C in calc right now will be offset by my previous A and average out to a B :) yay for senioritus ;) i am staying home today "sick" teehee

IAmTheEvilest is so right.

I bet summer vacation will go by really fast too, like the weekends now. And then we'll be in college and crying for another vacation....

should i worry about my senior year gpa being a 3 when my previous years was a 3.7 for UCs. If so than i got to do well this semister and average it out.

lol im the usually got 3.3ish for 3 years, then ALL OF A SUDDEN got recomended for 2AP and 1 honors class, had 4.0 weighted for first semester.................and then christimas break happend. welcome F in AP chemistyr, F in English, B in physics.....A in ap calc, A in psych. u think college's'll take away my acceptance to universyt of maryland?
