Strange Call from Admissions Officer

I wouldn't be surprised if he is indicted someday as the executive of a company who cheated thousands of employees out of their pensions.

Generally, you actually have to be smart to make it up in a big corporation. Also, corporations hire private investigators to dig up everything that they possibly can when they appoint new CEOs. They can find out if you killed an ant in elementary school, let alone if you cheated your way into a top university. So you don't have to worry about that.

And to the OP, let us know if you get in or not. It would be interesting to see what happens on decision day -- to see if all of this stuff we read actually has any bearing on what happens.

You'll be quite surprised at what type of people can "make it up in a big corporation."

Citizen, good article. That is exactly what I am talking about.

Although I have to give him credit for masquerading as a CEO for all this time, what a scum bag. Clearly, Radio-Shack didn't do its homework.

Current Yalie here:

Interesting situation there. I don't think the phone call is a positive or a negative, but it is indeed strange. As someone who knows a lot of admissions people and somewhat works at the office...yeah. I think it's more of a positive.

About the evil child that is mentioned in this thread:

The problem with accusations, even if true, is that they rarely lack physical proof. Produce some and admissions officers have to notice.

But quite frankly, don't worry. Admissions will hopefully not accept him. They are very good at creating a campus full of energetic kids who have a unique perspective and amazing talent in some unique way.

Though, sometimes, some do fall through the cracks. But then we, the students, catch them :)

evil child LOL
