I received a "likely letter" as well. 1250 SATs, 3.7 GPA. I showed it to my guidence counselor and she said that they wouldn't have sent it unless they were 99.9% sure they were going to offer me admission. So to everyone who's reveived a letter as well - congratulations! Consider yourself accepted.

Congrats to all who got likey letters! I wish i got one :( I loved Bucknell. I went to their open house and just really got that "college feeling." Everyone seemed so nice and the campus was beautiful. I have a 1320 SAT, 4.0 avg, ranked 12/380.. I can't wait to hear from Bucknell, considering my first choice (BC) still hasn't sent me a letter yet and they seem to be really hard this year. Good luck to all! :)

hey bc girl I bet you will get into Bucknell no problem!

thank you stain.. i hope you're right.. my SAT scores are a lil low I know.. damn standardized testing haha but hopefully they will look past that.. im just a lil freaked out after this whole BC thing.. has anyone seen that thread?.. people with 1400's are being rejected/waitlisted left and right.. o jeez .. hopefully Bucknell won't be as harsh

Your SAT scores aren't low at all, they're Bucknell's average. Mine was a 1330 and I still got a letter saying that they're probably going to admit me.

thank you.. hopefully we will both be going there in the fall! :) do you think that's where you will go?

gah I wish I had gotten a likely letter because the tension right now is crazy...Bucknell is my top choice and I realllllyyy want to go there. But if they don't want me, that's that I guess...

I feel the same way. After getting rejected from BC I'm getting nervous that I didn't receive a likely letter from Bucknell. I hope another rejection isn't headed my way. :-/

Don't worry, people! Just because you weren't "reassured," it doesn't mean you're going to get rejected. In a few days, you'll know their answer for sure.

Mine score was 1450 and i got rejected. I dont know what to think

As of right now I don't know if I'm going, but the answer is probably not. I liked Bucknell a lot. It's a GORGEOUS campus, the people were probably the nicest out of all the ones I met doing college rounds, and their English program is phenomenal. But when I first started out this college process I said: 1. I want to go somewhere near a city 2.I want a school that isn't all about frats because I sure as hell am not joining a sorority aaand 3. I wanted somewhere that was fairly diverse, like my current high school. And Bucknell doesn't really match that criteria. I got into Brandeis Monday, so I'm probably going to go there if Emory says no.
So any waitlistees, you can have my spot!!! ;-)

I got a letter too, and I was totally suprised because my GPA is only like 3.63 and my SATs are 1330. I think I will probably end up going to Bucknell, unless I get into either Colby, Colgate, or Hamilton, which I don't think will happen. Even if I do get into any of those schools, I think I still probably will go to Bucknell. Colby, Colgate and Hamilton all seem really cold, and Colby and Hamilton seem a little too small for me.

There are a few things about Bucknell that I am sort of unsure about. First of all the prevalence of Greek life. I am not really opposed to Greek life, I guess I am just not sure how I feel about the whole thing, and how it dominates the social scene. Also one of my friends has a really good friend who is a freshman at Bucknell right now, and she really hates it because she thinks the people are mean. I don't know this girl very well, but I have her a couple of times. She always seemed very nice and friendly to me, so it kind of freaks me out that she doesn't like the people because I don't want to be in the middle of nowhere with no friends. But I don't know, I guess there are always people who don't like certain schools, and I have heard many other people love Bucknell. I guess I am just freaked out about this whole college choice and probably pay way too much attention to every little thing I hear.

I didn't knwo how to react when i got my likely letter. my gpa is 3.0

yeah im waitlisted with a 1450 and 4.2W gpa. what what. lol

my one friend waitlisted with over a 1400 combined undecided major to arts and sciences was accepted even before may 1st!

i just called... im ranked number one on the management schools list! but they said they probably wont know till sometime next week.... hmmm.

well at least everyone in their admissions office was really nice over the phone!

good luck! I hope you get off the list!

thanks thanks

i got in off the waitlist!

but i had to change my major to undecided... hmmm

Congratulations one02many! Ive been hoping to see an acceptance post from you! Im sure with your grades youll be admitted to the department of your choice as soon as they have room for you. They obviously wanted you. My daughter was also waitlisted with excellent stats and an SAT score just like yours. We were amazed and she was beyond devastated. Especially since Bucknell was her first choice. Its strange that so many high caliber students were waitlisted. She did not want to apply to the ivies. She just wanted Bucknell. On another thread I read a girls stats which were amazing and she was waitlisted at many schools also. She asked What more do they want us to do? At that point, I was shaking my head. There were so many stories just like that. Im beginning to think there is such a thing as the Tufts Syndrome. Luckily, like you, my daughter finally made it off the waitlist. Weve been celebrating ever since! Im looking forward to being a supportive Bucknellian mom. It really seems like a great school.
Soooo -congratulations one02many and good luck!!! Im glad you got in!
