I got a letter today from UVA, but it's not a likely letter. I'm not sure what to make of it- did any of you get one? It says that the Committee of Admission has looked over my application and is very impressed and that my grades and ECs are "unusually strong." What does this mean?

Congratulations, but give me a break. You are in. Also, if you are not bragging, sorry for being rude.

ditto, congratulations!

Yes I also got that letter, and was wondering about the same.

It sounds like a likely letter to me. I didn't get one :( So be happy!

no i wasn't bragging... it just didn't seem like a likely letter...congratulations Flavian! :)

I meant...be happy that you got one. not that i didn't get one.

i got one too!

does anyone know HOW LIKELY it is that you're in???

i'm asking because they might not be happy with my semester grades (a C in an AP class -- is this reason enough for me not to get in??)

thanks for all y'all's input.

for those of you who got the likely letter, when did you submit your application?

Ah... the mysterious letter... while I can't assure you that this is the case, in the past this kind of letter has been sent out in advance to those who are likely to receive Echols/Rodman invitations.
