Strange letter from bucknell

thank you! imm really excited! still waiting for 2 other waitlists... and a little hesitant about the need for a major change but im feeling positive :-D

Just to clarify Bucknell's greek life. 40% of the school is in he greek system. We have a delayed rushing system so you canNOT rush until your first semester sophomore year (which is a really good system). But as everyone was mentioning earlier, everyone at Bucknell is extremely nice. And everyone (or at least almost everyone) is extremely nice in the greek system. Bucknell's culture and it's greek life is very different from other schools. Our frat/sororities maintain an average of a 3.4, which is very good. They also have to have a certain number of community service hours and donations to charity organizations. They also have to hold a certain number of events that are University supported and opened to the entire campus. There is really no competition between any frat or sorority. And if you do not like the greek life you can get away from it. There are a lot of independent students (60% of upperclass and all first-years) and they have a lot of fun doing their own thing. So please do not let the greek life be a con for Bucknell in your mind. This is probably too late since everyone prob. knows where they are going but just to clarify for an juniors.

thanks tenis
